Recent falls of raw milk prices and increases in product prices in the first half of the year are likely to help the companies to improve their gross profit margin in the rest of the year.
Efforts to stabilise milk prices have succeeded to an extent, but
concerned agencies continue to face difficulties in carrying out this
task, a Finance Ministry official says.
Milk prices have stabilised after the Finance Ministry applied a
ceiling price in June on milk products consumed by children under six in
the domestic market.
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) plans to closely manage domestic milk
prices, in cooperation with relevant bodies, given that one milk trader
has increased its prices while others plan to follow suit.
The Ministry of Finance has asked dairy producers and traders in Viet
Nam to reduce production and trading costs to lower the retail price of
milk products.
The Ministry of Finance''s Price Management Department has required six
dairy producers to report on their retail milk prices for products aimed
at children aged under 6 years old.
